Dance Around the World returns in 2026, bringing together groups and individuals of all ages for a vibrant, live, coordinated online dance event. This global celebration aims to raise awareness of the power and importance of intergenerational practice by uniting communities across countries, cultures and generations.

The live event will take place on Day 1 of GIW26

  • Date: Friday 24 April 2026

  • Time: 2:00pm – 3:00pm AEST / 4:00pm – 5:00pm NZST

During the live streamed event, participants will perform the official dance in real time, creating a powerful shared global moment. Those unable to attend a live session are warmly invited to record their performance anytime between now and the live event and submit it via email to be included in a global video compilation to be shared across websites and social media platforms.
